My recent stay at the Osborne Hotel was absolutely wonderful—this hotel has quickly become one of my favourite places in the UK. From the moment I arrived, I felt like I had stepped into a different world: dramatic sea views, historic architecture, peaceful surroundings, and a sense of timeless charm that’s hard to describe. The setting is simply breathtaking—panoramic views of the sea and cliffs greet you the moment you step out the front door. The hotel grounds are beautifully maintained and peaceful, making it feel like a private retreat far away from the bustle of town. There’s a true sense of tranquillity here, which makes it ideal for anyone looking to unwind, reflect, or simply breathe deeply and reset. I loved my daily breakfast in the elegant dining room—there was always a warm welcome, and the staff were incredibly friendly, kind, and down to earth. The food was delicious, with a lovely buffet selection alongside cooked options, and the window seating overlooking the gardens made every breakfast feel luxurious and serene. My room was warm, comfortable, and beautifully furnished. I especially appreciated being able to control the heating myself—such a small detail, but it made all the difference. Everything was clean, peaceful, and thoughtfully arranged. The Osborne feels like a hotel out of time. It’s no wonder that during the Victorian era, artists, writers, and philosophers returned here again and again. With its inspiring views, sea air, and calming atmosphere, it’s the kind of place where your mind can wander and your soul can rest. It’s a rare gem that offers history, beauty, and comfort in perfect harmony. I’m already planning my return visit—this time for 8 nights in a junior suite. That’s how special this place is. Thank you to the entire Osborne team for a truly unforgettable stay. You all were so amazingly kind and helpful and the service was top notch.

the view is spectacular, we had a junior suite on the second floor with 3 large windows with sea view which is captivating. The room itself had recently been renovated along with the hallways all with new carpeting and fresh paintwork. It's an example of how some other U.K. hotel rooms are in need updating. the size of the room and furnishing is faultless. Car parking along the private road in front of the hotel is adequate. You need to be fairly fit as it's quite hilly surrounding the hotel which in itself is a very impressive building. would definitely stay again. We were on bed breakfast basis and breakfast is excellent with a varied choice of food..

Excellent choice of English and Continental breakfast. Any combination possible. Staff gracious and attentive. All cooked well and and very much enjoyed. The terrace was very relaxing and peaceful with a lovely view of sea and a good choice of light bites for lunch too. The outdoor swimming pool was an ideal temperature and lovely for swimming in. Plenty of loungers for lying /sitting on. The grounds were quite extensive, and well maintained with an assortment of beautiful flowers and shrubs everywhere. Loved the sea views and little path down to the Meadfoot beach below.

Valerie

the parking was easy and flat, the receptionist was welcoming, the room was of a high standard of decor and we loved the view. Tennis court was a bonus. We enjoyed the outside bar and seating area. lunch menu was short but good and we loved the salmon baguette and sweet potato and ginger soup. We loved being close to the beach and the location was very relaxing overall. We liked that this is a small hotel and didn't feel crowded. We didn't use the pool but it looked spotless and well-organised. Very quiet at night. A really beautiful escape.

Rebecca

Fantastic location, just a short stroll to the beach. Staff were great although under pressure with busy breakfast and meal times so food was delayed. Junior Suite Room with sea view was just refurbished and was very clean. The outdoor pool looked good but didn't get chance to try it out. Outside terrace was great with nice views of the sea.
